Execution Trader - China Markets (Shanghai)

Our client is a global PFM, seeking an Execution Trader to be based in Shanghai, focusing on China onshore market. The role will support local and global team by delivering high-quality execution across multiple asset classes, with an emphasis on efficiency, risk control, and market intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute trades across multiple asset classes, including futures, equities, bonds, FX, and rates, with a primary focus on China markets
• Partner closely with portfolio managers and research teams to implement investment decisions efficiently and responsibly
• Manage day-to-day execution workflows, ensuring best execution, liquidity management, and cost control
• Monitor market conditions, regulatory developments, and microstructure dynamics in China
• Provide real-time market feedback, trade analysis, and post-trade review to investment teams
• Ensure adherence to internal risk controls, compliance standards, and local regulatory requirements
• Support ongoing improvement of execution processes, tools, and broker relationships

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven experience as an execution trader, preferably within a buy-side or global institutional platform
• Strong hands-on experience in China markets (onshore and/or offshore)
• Asset class experience across futures, equities, bonds, FX, and rates preferred
• Solid understanding of market microstructure, liquidity, and execution strategies
• Strong risk awareness, attention to detail, and ability to operate in fast-moving markets
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with global stakeholders
• Based in Shanghai (or already on the ground in China); Mandarin fluency required, English working proficiency preferred
