Execution Trader - Long/Short Equity

A single-CIO hedge fund with a long-biased equity strategy is seeking an Execution Trader to join its team in Hong Kong. This role offers close collaboration with senior leadership and direct exposure to the investment decision-making process.

Role Overview

The Execution Trader will be responsible for equity trade execution across Greater China markets, with additional exposure to U.S. equities. The role works closely with the Partners, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Investment Officer, supporting portfolio implementation while maintaining high execution standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute equity trades efficiently across Greater China markets, with some U.S. market activity
• Partner closely with the CIO, Partners, and COO on daily trading and portfolio implementation
• Monitor market conditions, liquidity, and execution quality
• Manage broker relationships and evaluate execution performance
• Ensure trades are executed in line with internal guidelines and risk controls
• Support ongoing improvement of execution processes and workflows

Required Experience & Skills

• 2-6 years of relevant trading or execution experience
• Background open to buy-side, sell-side, or brokerage environments
• Strong understanding of equity market structure and execution strategies
• Experience trading or supporting Greater China equities is highly preferred
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment

Language & Communication

• Fluency in English and Chinese (spoken and written) is required
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work directly with senior stakeholders
