Do you have the desire and drive to manage capital, while aligning yourself with the strategic direction of the firm? If so, this may be the ideal opportunity for you. The Taxable Trading Department within Edward Jones is primarily responsible for providing our Financial Advisors with a broad supply of highly diversified and fairly priced bonds that are used to fulfill the unique needs of every one of our more than 8 million clients. Our goal is to identify and analyze opportunities in the marketplace while always seeking to provide the best execution possible on every trade we handle.
What You Will Do:
As a Trader II in the Taxable Trading Department, expectations are that you have a passion for capital markets, excellent risk management skills, and be able to make capital commitments with minimal oversight. Additionally, attention to detail is a must as your decisions can negatively impact our clients, while exposing the firm to significant regulatory, financial, and reputational risk.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure inventories align with firm research and portfolio guidance, leveraging new issues, bid wanteds, secondary purchases, client liquidations and external offerings, effectively identifying capital commitment opportunities and managing corresponding positions with moderate retail-structured trading flows and capital commitments
Advanced application of capital markets analytics, trading strategies, and risk management techniques
Improve best execution and compliance with all firm and industry regulatory requirements
Advanced application of internal and external trading systems (e.g. Bloomberg) and related tools
Deliver client service excellence for branch-related inquiries, identifying trends and improving best practices accordingly
Improve operational excellence initiatives
Provide general training and guidance to other traders, including supply, pricing, and inventory insights
Build the depth and breadth of internal and external networks, including dealer relationships
