A leading Asian asset management firm seeks a talented Vice President for its Fixed Income trading team in Hong Kong. We prioritize candidates from asset management backgrounds, ideally with long-only experience, to deliver superior trade execution, market intelligence, and strategic support to investment teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute diverse fixed income trades including cash bonds, repos, derivatives (CDS/CDX, rates, FX, futures), structured products, and convertible bonds.
• Achieve best execution emphasizing speed, accuracy, compliance, and cost control while minimizing market impact.
• Uphold strict trading discipline to safeguard portfolio performance.
• Build and maintain robust relationships with banks, brokers, and trading counterparties.
• Protect investment strategies, holdings, and trading intentions with utmost confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
• Track macroeconomic developments, liquidity conditions, technical trends, and key news flows.
• Provide real-time market insights and proactive trade ideas for duration, beta, and FX positioning.
• Handle full-cycle primary bond issuances: terms negotiation, order book management, submissions, allocations, and settlements.
• Analyze order book dynamics, assess new issue fair value, and advise sell-side to enhance negotiation leverage.
• Expand expertise into MBS, CDS, FX, interest rate products, and structured solutions.
• Offer cross-asset trade recommendations supported by cost, risk, and execution analysis.
• Monitor portfolio cash positions and deploy idle funds into repos, money markets, or liquid instruments.
• Coordinate with portfolio managers to align cash flows with investment timelines efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline.
• CFA, FRM, or equivalent preferred.
• Proven fixed income trading experience from an asset management firm, preferably in long-only strategies .
• Deep market knowledge, sharp analytical skills, and forward-looking judgment.
• Excellent communication and counterparty relationship management.
• Strong integrity, compliance focus, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to execute precisely while serving as a strategic partner to investment teams.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin .
