An established global asset management firm is conducting a confidential search for a Senior Index Portfolio Manager to be based in Singapore. This role sits within a well‑resourced, globally integrated Equity Index / Passive Investments platform and will play a senior leadership role in the management of large‑scale institutional portfolios.

The Role The appointed professional will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management, optimisation, and oversight of equity passive index portfolios, ensuring performance aligns tightly with benchmarks while maintaining best‑in‑class execution, risk control, and governance standards. The role involves close collaboration with global investment, trading, risk, and client teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee large, complex equity index portfolios across developed and/or emerging markets
• Drive portfolio construction, rebalancing activity, and corporate action processing with a strong focus on tracking error minimisation
• Provide senior oversight on index transitions, mandate onboarding, and optimisation strategies
• Partner closely with trading teams to ensure efficient execution, cost control, and liquidity management
• Work with risk and investment oversight teams to ensure adherence to internal and external guidelines
• Act as a senior investment representative for internal stakeholders and selected institutional clients
• Contribute to the ongoing development of indexing capabilities, processes, and governance frameworks

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience managing equity passive / index portfolios within a reputable asset manager
• Deep, hands‑on expertise in equity index replication, optimisation techniques, and benchmark methodologies
• Strong understanding of global equity markets, index providers, and portfolio analytics
• Experience managing institutional‑scale mandates (pension funds, sovereign wealth, insurers, etc.)
• Proven ability to operate in a global, matrix‑style investment organisation
• High level of attention to detail, strong risk mindset, and commercial judgement
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CFA) strongly preferred
