Description
With offices in Europe, Asia and the US, this international financial services PLC has a solid reputation in the industry along with a strong track record of sustained success. Their Finance function in London is looking to hire an ambitious part-qualified, Finalist or fully-qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) accounting professional to work within their Financial Reporting team, which is responsible for the main statutory and financial reporting obligations within the wider EMEA Finance team across the company, particularly the statutory reporting for all the legal entities within the EMEA region. This role is focused on ensuring all statutory reporting obligations are delivered in a timely and accurate manner. This role offers the opportunity to actively contribute to a range of Finance-related projects and initiatives.Profile Criteria:

- Ideally Fully-Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) candidate, but will also consider those at part-qualified or Finalist level, with statutory accounts production experience either from a top 50 chartered accountancy practice or from industry (preferably a regulated financial services business).
- Strong experience and understanding of reporting under IFRS.
- Experience preparing accounts for medium to large clients, if in a chartered accountancy practice currently, or currently preparing accounts for a medium or large company (preferably listed but not essential)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Must be on a 1-month (or less) notice period (important)
Responsibilities / Tasks:

- Manage the delivery of annual financial statements for EMEA controlled entities.
- Compile and review accurate financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g. IFRS and UK GAAP).
- Assist in drafting technical papers for approval to support accounting decisions.
- Assist with year end and interim audits including communication with external auditors.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies for financial reporting and disclosures.
- Provide input into the development of reporting systems, controls and finance automation of current BAU processes.
- Preparation of high quality regular and ad hoc financial information, applying critical evaluation and making recommendations suitable for senior management.
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements and apply them appropriately.
- Build strong working relationships across wider Finance team including Tax, Treasury and the Company Secretarial team.
Skills, Experience, Knowledge Required:
Essential

- Ideally a fully qualified accountant (ACA / CA / ACCA or equivalent) in a similar position (but will also consider those at part qualified / Finalist level).
- Strong understanding and technical knowledge of accounting principles, UK GAAP and IFRS as well as capacity to quickly understand the differences of other local GAAPs.
- Self-motivated individual, taking responsibility and ownership in delivering high quality work within set deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrates a risk and controls mindset, ensuring deliverables are documented appropriately.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experience in navigating various accounting systems for efficient data management and reporting.
- Experience in dealing with internal and external auditors and handling audit requests.
