Join our Asset Management Legal team in Taiwan on a 6-month contract, where you will provide comprehensive legal coverage for our Taiwan business. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with direct access to key stakeholders. Be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration, and help us navigate the complex legal landscape of investment products and strategies.As a member of the Taiwan Asset Management Legal Team, you will be assisting on legal and regulatory issues related to investment products across all asset classes in Taiwan. This position is based in Taipei, Taiwan, and reports to the Head of Legal for Asset Management Taiwan. The role provides a broad range of legal support and assistance, predominantly fund-related, to JPMAM's thriving Taiwan asset management business.
Job responsibilities
- Advise the business on legal and regulatory issues relating to investment products and strategies across all asset classes in Taiwan.
- Draft, review, and advise on fund offering and organizational documentation, as well as agreements related to the establishment or utilization of platforms/channels for fund distribution.
- Keep the team and stakeholders informed of regulatory changes in Taiwan.
- Support the business in day-to-day legal matters and provide practical, solution-oriented advice.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local and regional regulations and internal policies.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Qualified to practice law in Taiwan; candidates with internationally recognized legal qualifications may also be considered.
- Minimum 1 year of legal experience, or legal qualification with relevant work experience (law firm or in-house, preferably in financial services or asset management).
- Good understanding of funds and regulatory matters pertaining to the asset management business.
- Attorneys must be licensed to practice law and be a member in good standing, or otherwise eligible to practice law in the jurisdiction in which the position is based.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with the offering and operation of mutual funds is preferred.
- Experience working in a cross-border or multi-jurisdictional legal environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- All candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment.
