Execution Trader - Hedge Fund

Zurich-based alternative asset manager is seeking an experienced Execution Trader

We are a hedge fund based in Zurich, Switzerland, specializing in absolute return investment strategies in equity & credit special situations and merger arbitrage. We're seeking a proven Execution Trader who excels in delivering best-in-class execution while thriving under pressure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a history of efficiency and composure in a variety of trading environments, adeptly managing counterparty relationships, and will be expected to proactively contribute technical market insights to inform front office strategies and enhance alpha generation. The role is full-time, based in Zurich.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute trades across equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, derivatives, and other instruments with a focus on minimizing market impact and optimizing execution quality.

• Manage and prioritise daily trading activity, order flow, negotiate stock borrow terms and facilities, and collaborate closely with portfolio managers, analysts, and senior operational management.

• Handle portfolio rebalancing, inflows/outflows, trade breaks, and counterparty relationships while adhering to best execution practices.

Requirements

• 3-7 years of experience as an Execution Trader or similar role in a hedge fund, asset manager, or bank trading desk, ideally with exposure to event-driven or multi-asset strategies.

• Deep familiarity trading equities, fixed income / corporate bonds, FX and derivatives (including options, futures, swaps, and structured products).

• Strong knowledge of trading platforms, OMS/PMS (Broadridge or similar), trading algorithms, market microstructure, and transaction cost analysis.

• Preferably Swiss or EU citizen for work permit efficiency in Zurich; fluent English required.

• Bachelor's or Master's in Finance, Economics, or related field; CFA or equivalent a plus.
