A well-established global asset management firm is seeking a Compliance Manager to join its Tokyo-based compliance team. Although this position carries a manager title, you will act as the key standalone compliance professional, taking ownership of business compliance matters in a small, supportive organisation known for its excellent work-life balance and long-term career stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary compliance contact within the Tokyo office for business-related compliance matters
• Provide advisory support to internal departments on regulatory and compliance requirements
• Manage communication and 대응 with Japanese financial authorities and regulators
• Review internal policies, client-facing materials, and compliance-related documentation
• Ensure ongoing compliance with industry standards within the asset management sector

Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:

• 7+ years of professional compliance experience within an asset management company or related financial institution
• Strong knowledge of business compliance practices and regulatory frameworks in Japan
• Bachelor's degree or higher required

Soft Skills:

• Ability to work independently as a standalone compliance professional
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgement in risk-based decision making
• Excellent communication and stakeholder advisory skills

Language Requirements:

• Japanese: Native-level fluency required
• English: Business-level communication skills sufficient for global interaction

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a foreign-owned financial services firm in Japan
• Prior exposure to direct regulatory engagement and financial authority 대응
• Strong understanding of compliance culture within boutique asset management environments
