Job description:Our client is a Hedge Fund located in Zug.
On behalf of our client, Swisslinx is looking for a Chief Operating Officer / Risk Officer to oversee operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and risk management as the company enters its next phase of growth.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the fund's daily operations, including administration and internal controls.
- Coordinate with portfolio management, compliance, accounting, and external service providers to ensure efficient workflows.
- Lead process improvement and scalability initiatives as the fund expands.
- Maintain and enhance the firm's risk management framework across market, liquidity, operational, and counterparty risks.
- Conduct risk assessments, scenario analyses, and stress testing of portfolios.
- Prepare and present risk reports and recommendations to senior management and the Board.
- Act as the primary point of contact with FINMA, ensuring full compliance with Swiss financial regulations.
- Oversee the annual FINMA regulatory audit and maintain up-to-date documentation and reporting in line with regulatory standards, including U.S. CFTC requirements.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to uphold AML, data protection, and governance standards.
- Prepare and deliver operational and risk reports for investors and stakeholders.
- Support fundraising and investor relations through clear communication about fund processes, risk controls, and performance.
- Represent the firm in investor meetings, due diligence sessions, and industry events.
Experience
- 10+- years of experience in fund operations, risk management, or related areas within the financial or commodity investment sector.
- Strong understanding of derivatives (various asset classes incl. commodities), and fund structures (e.g., UCITS, AIF).
- Proven experience interacting with FINMA or other European financial regulators, including audit management.
- Solid knowledge of Swiss regulatory frameworks, compliance, and risk management practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence in dealing with investors and regulators.
- Fluency in English and German required.
- CFTC Series 3 license is an advantage.
- University degree in Finance, Economics, Law, or related field; advanced qualifications such as CFA, FRM, or CAIA preferred.
- Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, pragmatic approach.
- High integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
