Do you have the desire and drive to manage capital while aligning yourself with the strategic direction of the firm? If so, this may be the ideal opportunity for you. The Municipal Trading Department within Edward Jones is primarily responsible for providing our Financial Advisors with a broad supply of highly diversified and fairly priced municipal bonds that are used to fulfill the unique needs of every one of our more than 8 million clients. Our goal is to identify and analyze opportunities in the marketplace while always seeking to provide the best execution possible on every trade we handle.
As an Associate Trader 1 in the Municipal Trading Department, expectations are that you will have a passion for capital markets, and excellent risk management skills. Additionally, attention to detail is a must as your decisions can negatively impact our clients, while exposing the firm to significant regulatory, financial, and reputational risk.
What You Will Do:
- Provide trading support under direct oversight of a licensed trader
- Develop market analysis techniques, including basic pricing levels, risk assessment, and position management
- Deliver client service excellence by researching and resolving general branch inquiries
- Build knowledge of and adhere to all firm processes, policies and regulatory requirements
- Gain understanding of internal and external trading systems and related tools
- Complete assigned tasks and projects to support the trading desk
- Successfully attain Series 7, SIE, 52 and 66 within 6 months

Position Requirements
What Experience You Need:
- B.A./B.S. degree in business, economics, finance, or quantitative related field
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in financial services, including capital markets preferred
- Series 7, SIE, 52, and 66 required within 6 months
- Strong math skills: accuracy is important
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Position is not remote eligible, it will be based in office in Tempe, AZ
- Capital markets experience
- Client Service and/or financial industry experience
- CFP, MBA, CFA, CPA or working towards designation(s)
- Proficiency in non-trading applications or coding language (i.e. Microsoft Suite, Power BI, Tableau, VBA, SQL)
Salary Information
Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism. Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing. All associates are eligible for the firm's Employee Assistance Program.
