Are you ready to take the lead in transforming how a council plans, manages, and invests
in its assets? We’re seeking an Asset Management Lead to drive a best-practice, datadriven asset management framework that supports long-term financial sustainability and delivers real value for our community.
About the Role
In this key leadership position, you will guide the development and continuous improvement of Council’s asset management framework, ensuring it is aligned with our corporate objectives and integrated across all departments.
You will:
- Lead the development and implementation of asset management strategies, plans, and policies ensuring a financially sustainable, data-driven asset management system
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to embed asset management principles into corporate planning, budgeting, service delivery, and decision-making
- Manage the asset register, ensuring accurate condition, GIS, and financial information
- Coordinate annual renewal planning and 10-year investment programs
- Lead asset data collection, condition assessments, capitalisation, and performance reporting
- Provide expert advice on lifecycle management, risk, and service performance
- Champion system improvements, training, and documentation across the organisation
You’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Asset Management, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience developing Asset Management Plans and operating asset systems
- Strong analytical capability, including GIS and asset data analysis
- Experience in capitalisation, valuation, and long-term investment planning
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Technology One experience highly regarded
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
